Providing individual in-person sessions for adults in Asheville, NC and Telehealth Sessions throughout North Carolina

I have worked with many clients who are weighed down by their own self-judgment and self-invalidation. I have seen the powerful effect on people's lives when they begin to unhook from their negative self-talk and open themselves up to self-compassion. Often the roots of depression, emotion dysregulation, anxiety, difficulty navigating relationships, and self-judgment are in a history of trauma and chronic invalidation. I help people recognize these roots while also staying mindful in the present. I help folx learn coping skills to tolerate distress and move through difficult emotions.

If you've had previous experiences where your therapist was in the expert role and you were in the recipient role, your experience with me will be different. Yes, I may have special training and clinical experience, but I am a human just like you. I see the individuals I work with as experts on their own lives. I am here to provide a new perspective, encourage self-compassion, and hold a safe space where you can learn skills to move through emotional pain. My style is warm, genuine, and non-pathologizing.
